My blog is going to be about my life an Equipment Manager at WSU for the volleyball team. I selected this topic because it is something on campus that I do that is unique to me and something that takes up a lot of my life so I am able to write about it and show my perspective.

I plan to collect original materials by taking photos of some of the tasks that I have to do each day and interviewing the girls on the team that I get to work with each day.

I have a lot of ideas for some of the unit projects but there are two in particular that I want to share. For the audio story, I plan on interviewing some of the girls on the team about how I am doing and if they have any advice for me on how I can make their lives easier and interviewing some of the other equipment managers for other sports on their perspectives. For the video project, I want to do some sort of video story where I do a Day in the Life type of video.

Some of the things I am planning to use for inspiration materials are:

I wanted to include this video because even though it is an equipment manager working for a professional team and for a different sport some of the things are still similar. Having to pack for the athletes and making sure everything is taken care are just some of the tasks that I have to do. This is something I find inspiration in because it is similar to what I would want to do for my video project.

This article is inspiration to me because it looks into more of what I do. Although I don’t work in the football equipment room, my tasks are very similar when I have to come in before the team, make sure all their uniforms are clean and ready to be brought up to their lockers. I wanted to include this because it gives some insight to what I do.

I wanted to include this link because it is the average salary of an equipment manager. I’m not 100% sure what I want to do after school but this is something that I can consider because I already do a small part of this. It’s good to know what I could be making if I want to do this in the future.
